Last week saw two Cloudbase Paragliding pilots earn their well-deserved Elementary Pilot awards. On Tuesday 3 pilots braved unseasonably thermic (turbulent) conditions to fly really well at Milk Hill White Horse, next to the Alton Barnes white horse. Tom finished off his EP in style and is ready to take on the next challenge: Club Pilot. The next day John flew on the hill opposite, Tan Hill, in what turned out to be near perfect conditions, despite the one short rain shower and the rather misty conditions. He worked really hard, getting in 9 flights and the exam to be richly rewarded with a high flight from the highest point in Wiltshire! (well, equal highest; Milk Hill is exactly the same height!). Here's a video of that high flight. Just watch out for John's reaction on landing! It's priceless and sums up what makes this wonderful sport so special.
